Personal Data Protection

GDPR logo

The protection of personal data and the possibility of their misuse is one of the most debated issues in today's electronic world. At IBA, we place considerable emphasis on the protection of the personal data of both employees and cooperating entities and third parties.

In clinical research, not only personal data can often be processed, but also special categories of personal data can be processed (according to Article 9 of the General Regulation). To meet all legislative requirements, the company has in the past implemented into its system ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System and Personal Data Protection processes in accordance with Act 110/2019 Coll. About the processing of personal data. With the change of legislative requirements, respectively with the advent of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27th 2016 on the protection of individuals concerning the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, the IBA updated its processes in accordance with this Regulation and has appointed a data protection officer. IBAs’ projects have been inspected several times in the past by the highest body of the Office for Personal Data Protection, always without any deviation.

As part of the processing of personal data, the IBA implements appropriate organizational and technical measures consisting primarily of a controlled approach, minimization of processing, and technical support in accordance with the principles of the General Regulation. The comprehensive position of the IBA management on this issue is reflected in the Privacy Policy, see the link below.

The Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses is an investigator of the project “Extending services portfolio of an information system for the data management in clinical research”. The project is supported by the OP EIC from the European Union funds.

Main objective of the project is the development of a platform for composition of information systems focused on data management and data mining in the field of pharmaceutical industry and life sciences. Offer of digital services based on a developed and validated information system will make reliable analytical models accessible to the companies for their decision-making and precise information sources for regulatory bodies. The project steps out of a laboratory environment of clinical trials and focuses on the evidence supported by real-world data.
